This workshop focuses on the effectiveness of performance-based assignments in improving academic success, particularly among first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. Faculty members seeking to enhance student learning through clear assignment design and evaluation criteria are encouraged to attend. Participants will delve into the Transparency in Learning and Teaching framework, utilizing a template to refine existing assignments. Given the initiative tied to the College’s DEI efforts and its Quality Initiative towards becoming a Hispanic Serving Institution, attendance is crucial, as all faculty are mandated to implement this transparency framework to enhance one assignment per semester.
